A Pallet is a flat transport structure that supports goods in a stable fashion while being lifted by a forklift or pallet jack. St. Anthony Cold Storage (Eimskip) Inc. Pallet Division is a business that we acquired from a local pallet producing company during the summer of 2009. While pallets come in all sizes all pallets fall into two categories stringer and block pallets. In recent years new International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) means that most pallets shipped across national borders must be made of materials that are incapable of being a carrier of invasive species of insects and plants diseases. Due to the new IPPC regulation SACSEI invested in a heat treatment kiln which means that the wood must be heated to a minimum core temperature of 66 Degrees Celsius. When pallets are heat treated via this method they bear the initials HT near the IPPC logo. Each kiln has its registration number and is inspected by CFIA on an annual basis.

We can design pallets to required specifications for the job and attached are the specification for two of the primary pallets that we produce for our current customers:

Notched Stringer Pallet: Dimensions 48 x 40/1219 x 1016

Block Pallet: Dimensions 39.37 x 47.24/ 1000 x 1200
